When using Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) to list products, it's crucial to understand what types of products are suitable for fulfilment and any associated restrictions. Here are some key points related to FBA product suitability and restrictions:
**Review Product Requirements and Restrictions:**
- Before listing products with FBA, it's important to review the Help pages provided by Amazon for additional information on product requirements and restrictions.
- These Help pages include information on various topics, such as expiry-dated inventory, category approvals, Amazon product restrictions, and meltable inventory requirements.
**Meltable Inventory:**
- FBA accepts products that are subject to melting, but there are specific restrictions related to meltable inventory.
- Meltable inventory refers to heat-sensitive products that are eaten or swallowed, including items like chocolate, gums, and probiotics.
- Meltable inventory can be stored in fulfilment centres between October 15 and April 30 of each calendar year. After May 15, any meltable inventory in fulfilment centres is marked as unfulfillable and disposed of.
- Chocolates, gums, and probiotics will not be fulfilled through FBA from May 15 to September 30.
**Temperature Requirements:**
- Products stored in fulfilment centres must be able to withstand a minimum temperature of 10°C and a maximum temperature of 30°C during their shelf life without compromising their quality.
- Box markings should not indicate specific storage temperature requirements unless they are explicitly stated as ranging from 10°C to 30°C. These requirements are related to the storage conditions in the fulfilment centres, not during transport where products may be exposed to outdoor temperatures.
**Prohibited Products:**
- Products that require refrigeration, air conditioning, or freezing are prohibited for FBA all year long.
- Perishable products like fresh meats, fruits, or vegetables are also prohibited throughout the year.
**Removing Meltable Inventory:**
- If you have meltable inventory that needs to be removed from fulfilment centres, removal orders must be submitted before May 1 of each calendar year.
- Failure to submit removal orders in time may result in the destruction of the products without compensation.
- Be aware that the removal process can take weeks to be completed.
It's essential for sellers to be aware of these guidelines and restrictions to ensure that their products are handled appropriately and meet Amazon's fulfilment standards. Failing to comply with these requirements could lead to issues with inventory storage and disposition. If you have specific questions or concerns about your products, it's advisable to reach out to Amazon Seller Support for further assistance.
