You can cancel orders on Amazon using the Manage Orders page. Here are the steps to cancel one or multiple orders, as well as how to handle partial refunds for multi-item orders:
**Cancel One Order:**
1. Go to the Manage Orders page.
2. Locate the specific order you want to cancel.
3. Click on "Cancel Order" in the Action column.
4. On the Cancel Order page, select a "Reason for Cancellation." You can also enter any additional information in the Seller memo field.
5. Click "Submit."
**Cancel Multiple Orders:**
You can cancel multiple orders using one of the following methods:
- **Upload an Order Cancellation File:** This method is useful for canceling a large number of orders. More details can be found in Amazon's guidelines on canceling multiple orders.
- **Send an Order Acknowledgment Feed with a Status of "Failed":** This method requires an Amazon Marketplace Web Service (MWS) account and is suitable for canceling multiple orders programmatically.
**Partial Refunds for Multi-Item Orders:**
If you need to cancel part of an order with multiple items and refund the canceled items, follow these steps:
1. Dispatch and confirm the shipment for all the order items that you can fulfill.
2. Use an Order Adjustment Feed to submit a refund for the items that you cannot fulfill. Include the following information in the feed:
- **Quantity Cancelled:** Specify the quantity of items that cannot be fulfilled.
- **Adjustment Reason:** Choose the appropriate refund code. You can select either "NoInventory" or "CustomerCancel" based on the reason for the cancellation.
Keep in mind that it's important to maintain accurate inventory levels to minimize the need for pre-fulfillment order cancellations. Excessive cancellations can impact your overall performance metrics on Amazon. For more information on how canceled orders are factored into your performance metrics, refer to Amazon's guidelines on Customer Metrics.
