Gourmet Grilled Cheese with Fig Jam

ngredients:

  • Sourdough bread slices: 4

  • Gruyere cheese, sliced: 1 cup

  • Cheddar cheese, sliced: 1 cup

  • Fig jam: 1/4 cup

  • Butter: 2 tablespoons

  • Arugula leaves: For garnish

Instructions:

  1. Spread fig jam on one side of each sourdough bread slice.

  2. Place Gruyere and cheddar cheese slices on half of the bread slices (non-jam side).

  3. Top with the remaining bread slices, jam side down, to create sandwiches.

  4. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.

  5. Grill the sandwiches until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  6. Remove from the skillet and let them rest for a minute.

  7. Slice each sandwich diagonally and garnish with fresh arugula leaves.
