Caprese Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • Sourdough bread slices: 4

  • Fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced: 8 ounces

  • Tomatoes, sliced: 2

  • Fresh basil leaves: A handful

  • Butter: 2 tablespoons

  • Balsamic glaze: For drizzling

  • Salt and black pepper: To taste

Instructions:

  1. Lay out the sourdough bread slices on a clean surface.

  2. On each slice, layer fresh mozzarella cheese, tomato slices, and fresh basil leaves.

  3. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper to taste.

  4. Top each sandwich with another slice of sourdough bread.

  5. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.

  6. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  7. Drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.

  8. Cut the sandwiches in half diagonally.
